A great success for the Advances in Financial Technologies and Applications to Investment Solutions for Individuals Conference with over 100 professionals at the Palais Brongniart in Paris, to debate the future of investment management in the digital era, on April 2, 2019.

This event is the 3rd edition of the rotating conference series, assessing again the successful collaboration of EDHEC-Risk Institute, KAIST (Korea), Princeton (USA), and Tsinghua (China) Universities.

The audience, made of top executives from investment and wealth management companies, banks, institutional investors, and academics really enjoyed the good balance between academic insights and practical applications. A nice opportunity to interact with experts on financial technologies, including Lionel Martellini (Director of EDHEC-Risk Institute), Changle Lin (Adjunct Professor, Tsinghua University), John Mulvey (Professor and founding member of the Bendheim Centre for Finance at Princeton University), Laurent Calvet (Professor at EDHEC Business School) and Woo Chang Kim (Associate Professor at KAIST).

Arnaud de Bresson, CEO of Paris EUROPLACE, gave the opening speech at the "Advances in Financial Technologies and Applications to Investment Solutions for Individuals". The conference sessions included presentations on the following themes:

The conference closed with a roundtable session entitled "The Rise of Robo-Advisors: A Threat or an Opportunity for the Wealth Management Industry?", moderated by Yuri Bender from the Financial Times and will gather distinguished industry speakers, including Patrick Armstrong (Senior Officer, Financial Innovation, ESMA); Paolo Sironi (FinTech Thought Leader and Elective Member, IBM Industry Academy); Zakaria Laguel (Founder and CEO, WeSave), Christophe Donay (Head of Asset Allocation and Macroeconomic Research, Pictet WM), and Vincent Fourcaut, Member, The French Asset Management Association (AFG), Co-founder and President, Quantology Capital Management

The conference is taking place annually, and this third edition was organized by EDHEC-Risk Institute (the first edition was organized by EDHEC-Risk and Princeton University’s ORFE department and the second edition by KAIST).
